SheWorks was born out of a need to support working mothers and women by providing a nurturing, productive environment where they can balance their professional and personal lives. By building this larger community, we hope to change the narrative for women in the workplace and show our little ones that it’s possible to do it all. Meet Our Team
Ashley Whitney
Founder
Ashley Whitney, the visionary behind SheWorks, has been a steadfast advocate for women and mothers in the tech industry, where she played a crucial role in representing their voices on an executive team in a traditionally male-dominated space. Raised by strong women who championed equality, Ashley has always been driven to create change in spaces where women are underrepresented.
Her journey into motherhood, coupled with navigating the complexities of balancing a career and family without extensive external support, deepened her understanding of the challenges faced by working mothers. It also fueled her passion for creating spaces where women can access the support they need. Grateful for the backing she received from mentors and her husband, who took on a non-traditional caregiving role, Ashley’s experiences illuminated both the privileges and gaps in support systems available to women.
These personal and professional experiences led her to create SheWorks, a space designed to change the narrative for women in the workplace. Ashley is committed to inspiring other women to pursue both their professional and personal ambitions, showing through her own path that thriving in both is possible with the right community and support.
Paddy Kay Lei
Co-Founder & Member Experience Director
Paddy Kay Lei is the Co-Founder and Member Experience Director at SheWorks as well as a passionate small business owner. Her business, Paddy Kay Designs, is committed to creating opportunities for genuine human connections by bringing joy into people's lives through meaningful custom gifts.
Paddy moved to the PNW in 2022 without knowing a soul and has since found a deep sense of belonging among a diverse community of women. This newfound network has profoundly transformed her life, reinforcing her belief in the power of belonging and connection.
Her journey as an entrepreneur has provided her with invaluable insights that she brings to her role at SheWorks. She understands firsthand the importance of having a supportive space where women can feel safe, learn, and grow. Her experience fuels her commitment to SheWorks, a space that she too has been seeking, especially as she plans towards motherhood.
